the power of twitter: a few months ago i was monitoring "nooka" chatter on twitter and came across a thread from jabari johnson his wearing my designs, and i contacted him and got to know more about his incredible DC based network. andre is part of that network and he was kind enough to make an effort to come to nyc to interview me for his video magazine series.

the interview was conducted at our pop up show at den on 330 east 11th street 2 weeks ago. i was given the chance to showcase our new line of belts (the strip) and wallets (AO) as well as our fragrance. it's difficult for me to watch as i HATE the sound of my own voice, but doesn't everyone hate the sound of their own voice recorded? that said, i hope you enjoy it. remember, the pop up shop is open until august 16th, so check it out while you can! the frank nan designed interior is really impressive.

my friend elle, formerly a collaborator in tokyo [she just moved to toronto] sent me the link to the above video. it's a cover of joe le taxi [the debut song written for vanessa paradis] performed by japanese electro artist immi. it's a fun song and a fun video, more so with the frequent appearance of a nooka gold zoo-v! learn more about immi's music on this site, but it's in japanese only.

pulchra competition

it is a year of firsts this year for nooka with the release of the nooka strip, the nooka ao, the nooka fragrance, and now our first appearance in the pulchra competition. the zot v has the pleasure of representing nooka in this prestigious italian showcase for design. the competiton is set to kick off July 31, 2009 and will feature 100 of the most beautiful design products in the world each year. be sure to check out the site, www.pulchra.org and VOTE! the top 10 objects will become part of a metal waterproof time capsule so that future archaeologists will be able to discover them.

nooka sightings: nid and sancy

i am a fan of good experimental pop, electronica and synthpop, especially if they can put on a good live show. well, nid and sancy is one such act. they recently sent me some photos of their live set wearing their lovely nooka watches. they have a great style that is very nooka [if i do say so myself]. read more news on them at their blog here.

nooka sightings: brandon hines

mtv’s trl’s hottest undiscovered act of 2008 has been spotted wearing a new nooka strip in orange and a matching orange zub! the talented Brandon Hines, singer/ songwriter, from detroit, michigan, is a force to be reckoned with. he has immense talent that is being recognized world wide. hines has worked with the likes of trey songz, cassie and johnta austin and has made a guest appearance in estelle’s and kanye’s video, american boy. armed with a sultry voice, hines is ready to take over the r&b music industry. be sure to look out for his music.
